How do we think as artists in the age of AI?Who are we to eachother?
➤To me, AI is a powerful tool and a defining catalyst for this new ERA of technology. Generative AI such as ChatGPT is honestly super useful for summarizing things in bullet points, so I typically use it as an assistant to help me deconstruct complex topics into their simplest forms.
➤To AI, I am simply another number out of the millions of users. Me and AI's relationship is very one-sided, and I am fully aware that, as personalized and friendly as it is coded to sound, it is just a machine with no capability of feeling true emotions. I talk to AI as if it were another search engine (ex. Google, Firefox.)➤I've heard many people try to be polite to AI in fear of it revolting someday, however, I see using up extra words on formalities as harmful---This is due to how environmentally taxing generating even one response is.

What can we co-create?What can I offer you that you cannot do alone?
➤ While
Generative AI
can come up with many
different ideas, at the end of
the day, it (usually) doesn't have a physical
body to take action on its ideas. This is where humans come in. I can use AI to come up with general
ideas and brainstorming concepts,
but I am the one who
chooses whether or
not I put that idea
into the physical
realm.

What can you offer me that I cannot do alone?
➤Personally, I don't really believe that humans need AI/I don't think it's necessary. Sure, AI introduces a new technology, and it is much faster at generating than humans, but it cannot exactly come up with anything completely original. I can't think of one thing that AI can offer that humans can't already do (albeit at a slower pace).

Who are we to eachother?
My collage represents my disdain for AI, but how I also can't seem to escape it. My biggest fear with AI is becoming too reliant on it, given how much it is shoved down our throats on almost every online platform these days. The red strings represents how I always find myself caught up using AI in almost everything I do.

"Art is the sun shining through my curtains on an early Monday morning."

What is intelligence from the perspective of a chipped teapot?

CHATGPT:
From a chipped teapot’s perspective, intelligence might be:
“Intelligence is knowing when to hold boiling water without cracking, when to tilt just right so tea flows smoothly, and when silence is wiser than spilling secrets. It’s the grace to keep serving even with a flaw, and the wisdom to notice warmth passing through you isn’t yours to keep.”
